    NOVEMBER 2019 NEWSLETTER

    Speed Up Your Ecommerce Site

This month we present a few options for improving your site speed, based on your ecommerce platform.

The WP Rocket Caching Plugin for WordPress and/or WooCommerce is a commercial plugin that makes WordPress pages much faster. The plugin uses many techniques such as page caching, cache preloading, lazy loading of images, minification, deferred JS/CSS loading, and database optimizations. All of this combines to drastically improve the speed of any WP site, blog, or WooCommerce store.

LexiConn will take care of installing the plugin and adjusting the initial configuration of the settings for optimal performance. The plugin works well even for a dynamic solution like WooCommerce, as it caches static content while allowing the dynamic elements to keep working. Pricing is only $49.00 per year and it can be ordered at:

If you are using ShopSite as your Ecommerce platform, the software creates fast loading pages by default, as they are not dynamically generated. One additional item available to you to improve site speed would be to use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for static media assets. We can adjust your store to use a CDN easily once the service is set up. More information and an order form can be found at:

For Magento 1 and Magento 2 stores, the CDN presented above is also a good option to improve site speed. More specifically, if you are running Magento 2 and your store is hosted on a VPS or Managed server plan, implementing Varnish is an excellent way to see significant gains. Varnish is open source, and it caches files in memory. This allows it to reduce response time as well as bandwidth consumption. Drop us a note if you are interested in exploring the use of Varnish with your M2 store and we’ll review and advise accordingly. More details about how it works and implementation can be found at:
