In this Month’s Newsletter:
* LexiConn Shipping Module (LSM)
* Urchin 6 Sales Stats and ROI Module
* ShopSite Tip – International customers and states
LexiConn Shipping Module (LSM)LexiConn is pleased to announce our newest custom module:
The LexiConn Shipping Module (LSM)This free custom shipping API module, which is available for any ShopSite
Pro store, allows merchants to configure shipping methods in the same
fashion as ShopSite’s built-in options (shipping by weight, shipping by
currency, flat shipping, etc…) with the added benefit of being able to
place restrictions on what countries or states apply to each option,
restrict which products can be allowed for a certain option, and more.
Common scenarios would include:- Have a low cost shipping option for just the continental US.
- Offer different rates (or even different types of shipping calculations)
for US vs. International customers.- Have certain products restricted from seeing certain shipping options.
- Have a shipping option that only appears for certain products
The module has an easy to use web based interface, and is very flexible in
respect to how shipping options are calculated and returned to the
customer. If you would like to have this module installed for your ShopSite Pro
store, please send an email to support@lexiconn.com requesting this new
module. You may view more details, a screenshot, and documentation on our
website at:http://www.lexiconn.com/ecommerce/shopsite/shipping_module.html
Urchin 6 Sales Stats and ROI ModuleLexiConn offers an enhanced statistics module for ShopSite Pro stores.
This offering includes all of the regular Urchin reports, but also produces
detailed reports regarding revenue data. Standard reports include number of
transactions, products by revenue, products by quantity, and an in depth
drill-down report for each item as well. Advanced reports and features
include:* Set up funnels and conversion goals
* Set up A/B split testing
* Geo-targeting
* Keyword Analysis (both organic and paid)These reports can be extremely useful when trying to evaluate pay per
click campaign effectiveness, or revenue by referrer in general.
Specifically, the reports can tell you which sites are bringing in the most
sales, or which keywords are resulting in the most purchases. For more
detailed information regarding this offering, reference:http://www.lexiconn.com/ecommerce/shopsite/urchin.html
The Urchin Sales Stats/ROI module for ShopSite is $15 per month and can be
added to any ShopSite Pro store that has its own SSL certificate. If you do
not have your own SSL certificate, and would like to add the Urchin module,
we are offering 50% off the one year purchase price for any client buying a
new SSL certificate in conjunction with adding this service. Our SSL
certificate offerings can be found at:http://www.lexiconn.com/services/secure_certificates.html

ShopSite Tip – International CustomersIf you sell to international customers, you will want to make sure that
your checkout process takes into account international nuances. The most
common issue we hear about is how to handle the “State” dropdown box for
international customers. There are two ways to handle this situation:1. The most common is to edit the list of states in the dropdown to
include an option like “None” or “Not Applicable”. You can edit this
dropdown in the ShopSite backoffice under:
Commerce Setup -> State and CountryIn the dropdown box (you can type directly in this box), enter an option
at the top such as:
None;NAThis will allow international customers to choose this for their state if
it does not apply.2. The other option is to make the State field a text box instead of a
dropdown. You should only do this if the majority of your orders are not
from the United States or Canada. Also, if you use the text “zip code” in your cart/checkout process, you
may want to change it to something like “zip / postal code” as many
countries only recognize the term “postal code”.
As always, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
