RatePoint Reviews – SEO BenefitsIn previous newsletters, we have discussed the RatePoint offering, which provides an automated service allowing your customers to review your company quickly and easily. In addition to the marketing and sales value behind positive customer reviews, adding RatePoint can also result in SEO benefits, improving the indexing of your website in the search engines.
When you signup for RatePoint, your company will be automatically added to the RatePoint business directory. Data FeedsLast month we introduced GoDataFeed, and since that time we have received positive feedback about the service they provide. GoDataFeed has developed an automated system which submits your products in ShopSite to prominent comparison shopping engines like NexTag, PriceGrabber, and others.
This is a great way to expand your store’s reach and visibility by getting your products listed on other major shopping sites. Additionally, GoDataFeed has code that can help track the effectiveness of these engines by tracking sales back to the comparison shopping site from which they originated.
GoDataFeed offers a first month special of only 99 cents, essentially providing a free one month trial. Pricing after the first month is $49.99 per month for up to 5,000 products.

9.0 Quick Tip – Country Above ZipIn ShopSite 9.0, a small but useful feature was added that allows you to display the country dropdown selection on the initial shopping cart page above the zip/postal code field. This can help improve site usability for those stores where the country and zip are entered on the cart page. This is because when the customer enters a zip code, there is an automatic recalculation performed to determine the shipping costs based on the zip/postal code entered. If the visitor attempts to immediately select a country after entering the zip, they may have difficulty as the page will refresh. By putting the country above the zip, they can first choose the desired ship to country, then enter the zip/postal code, which at that point will force a recalculation of the cart.
This feature can be enabled in the backoffice under:
Commerce Setup -> Order System -> Shopping Cart
“Display Country above Zip/Postal Code”
