    ShopSite 8.0 released!

ShopSite, Inc. has released the latest version of their ecommerce software, version 8.0. This new version has been extensively tested by LexiConn and a preliminary v8 release was live on 20 LexiConn hosted ShopSite stores prior to the official launch. The new version adds many features and enhancements such as:

    - A rewards program
    - Tell a Friend feature
    - Print packing slips
    - New paypal options
    - Create and edit gift certificates from the backoffice
    - Improved orders database section
    - Many bugfixes and more…

A full feature list can be found at:
    http://www.shopsite.com/help/8.0/en-US/new-features.html

We have created a webpage that contains new version details, pricing info, and a link to the version 8 upgrade request form. You may view this page at:

Please thoroughly review the webpage listed above before requesting an upgrade so you are familiar with potential upgrade issues and common questions.

    Tip: Sorting made easier

If you use the ShopSite backoffice to manually arrange your products and/or page links, there is a simple trick to easily insert a new page or product in the middle of the list without having to renumber all the entries.

Let’s say you have 3 page links, and you want to insert this new page link in between the first and second link. Simply number your new page 1.5, and ShopSite will insert it between the first and second link, and renumber the entries for next time as 1,2,3,4. You can use decimals on the manual sort page to get in between links/products for new items, so you no longer have to renumber all the entries on the page.
