Description: Saddleblanket.com is an online outlet for El Paso Saddleblanket. El Paso Saddleblanket has been designing, manufacturing, and importing the finest quality southwest and western products since 1970. States Tricia of Tricia Neill Design, “They have been the “Source for Southwest” for tens of thousands of wholesale customers throughout their 40 years in business.

Saddleblanket.com was created so that everyone can get a first hand feel for our quality through a sampling of our wholesale products. We stock everything for the southwestern lifestyle. Southwest enthusiasts can find anything from Southwestern blankets and Southwest home decor to turquoise jewelry to saddles and western cowboy boots for the true cowboy (or cowgirl). El Paso Saddleblanket believes in quality, and we stand behind our products, while offering a huge selection at honest, low prices.”

Technologies Used: Tricia continued, “Having worked with Miva for our wholesale shopping websites (and realized the limitations), we decided to try ShopSite when we opened the Saddleblanket.com outlet in 2006. ShopSite’s easy to use back office and ability to be completely customized using custom templates is originally what attracted us to the platform. After a brief time working with another hosting company, we switched to LexiConn and have been pleased with their excellent service and the extra add-on modules they add to the ShopSite platform.

Tricia Neill Design recently redesigned the store with new custom templates to offer our customers a more streamlined user experience. ShopSite’s custom templates allow for complete design control while still allowing us to utilize all of the built-in features of the platform. Our focus in the redesign has been to highlight our vast range of products, ensure easy navigation through global dropdown and side menus and make the checkout experience easier. We use the McAfee Secure Program to build customer confidence and offer live chat to enable customers to contact us quickly while shopping. We take advantage of many of LexiConn’s add-ons including the product review module, order status module, and cart abandonment module.

Advice / Tips: “Make your user experience as easy as possible and test your site often. Give the customer numerous ways to contact you (live chat, email, big phone numbers) on the website so that they can see you are a legitimate business. Constantly strive to improve your site and keep your products current. Try new marketing ideas and expand on what is working for you. If you are starting with ShopSite and LexiConn you have a nice framework to get started with, so use as many of their tools as possible.”
