    In this month’s issue:
    * LexiConn domain transfer special
    * POP box users can now manage their own settings
    * phpBB2 updated to the latest version

    LexiConn domain transfer special…

LexiConn is pleased to announce a special rate on all domain transfers from now through June 30, 2005. All transfer orders placed in this time period will receive a renewal rate of $12.50, which is a 50% savings off of our normal rate! To take advantage of this special offer, simply initiate the transfer process at:

    http://domains.lexiconn.com/transfer_your_domain.html

Transferring your domain adds a year to your current expiration date, and does not interfere with your website’s functionality in any way. Aside from this special rate, advantages to switching to our registry include an easy to use web interface, and unmatched customer service and support. Detailed information regarding the transfer process can be found in our knowledgebase at:

    http://support.lexiconn.com/kb/index.php?ToDo=browse&catId=48

Note that all transfers are processed manually, so the $25 fee displayed on the screen is not applicable now through June 30, 2005, and no special code is required to receive the $12.50 rate. You will be billed at our normal rate of $25 per year ($20 for renewals of 5 or more years) for all subsequent years, which represents significant savings over Network Solutions and various other registrars.

POP box users can now manage their own settings…

We have improved our Account Manager to now allow POP box users to login individually to manage their settings. Users only have access to their specific box, so providing them with access will not interfere with anyone else’s box or with the integrity of the account itself. In order to take advantage of this feature, users would login to the Account Manger, located at:

    http://www.lexiconn.com/clients/login.html

using the domain name of the account along with their POP box username and password, rather than the main account username and password. Once logged in, users are able to setup an autoresponder, change their passwords, and modify / control their spam settings (if the account owner has requested this service).

phpBB2 updated to the latest version…

We have upgraded phpBB2 to the latest version (2.0.15), which was primarily a maintenance release that addressed the following issues:

    - Fixed moderator status removal in groupcp.php
    - Removed newlines after ?> on some files
    - Added admin re-authentication (admin needs to login seperately to access the ACP)
    - Fixed vulnerability in url/bbcode handling functions
    - Fixed issue in admin/admin_forums.php
    - Suppressed warning message for fsockopen in /includes/smtp.php
    - Fixed bug in admin/admin_smilies.php (admin is able to add empty smilies)
    - Adjusted documents to reflect the urgent need to update the files too (not only running the database update script)
    - Updated the readme file
    - Added one new language variable
    - Added general error if accessing profile for a non-existent user
    - Changed session id generation to be more unique
    - Fixed bug in highlight code to escape characters correctly
    - Reversed the 2.0.14 fix for postgresql because it produced more problems than it solves.
    - Added reference to article written by R45 about case-sensitivity in postgreSQL to the readme file
    - Fixed bypassing of validate_username on registration
    - Empty url/img bbcodes no longer get parsed
