    ===========================================

    In this Month’s Newsletter:
    * New Mailing List Service
    * Urchin Tips and Tricks

    New Mailing List Service

    LexiConn is excited to announce the availability of a new mailing list service. This new service is replacing the old Majordomo list software. Majordomo has become quite dated, and it’s bulk sending approach is actually causing problems with servers being temporarily blocked. Additionally, many of the large ISP’s are blocking emails sent by Majordomo entirely based on its sending method.

    The new mailing list system is a full featured solution that offers many advanced and powerful options. Some of the more noteworthy features include:

    - Built-in campaign editor for personalized email campaigns
    - Send html, text, or multipart emails
    - Create multiple lists for different categories
    - Schedule sending right away or in the future
    - Complete statistics and reporting
    - Autoresponder system to send automated follow-ups
    - One click unsubscribe, auto bounce handling
    - Tell a friend marketing
    - Easy to create web forms for subscribing, unsubscribing, and managing list details

    A full breakdown of the features and pricing (free for up to 2,000 emails sent per month) can be found at:

    LexiConn is also working with major ISP’s to help insure the best chance of deliverability. Our mailing list servers are whitelisted by AOL, have preferred sending status with Yahoo, and we are part of the monitoring and junk mail reporting system with Hotmail which helps emails reach Hotmail/MSN users without being filtered. We are also implementing SPF records so that mailings are seen as originating from a legitimate location.

    We will be phasing out Majordomo over the next month and encourage users who have a Majordomo list to signup for the new service. We can help with importing your list into the software, so it can be a seamless upgrade. If you have any questions about this transition, please let us know.

    Urchin Tips and Tricks

    Following up on last month’s newsletter…

    http://support.lexiconn.com/news/viewtopic.php?t=226

    …discussing how to use URL query parameters to monitor pay per click advertising, here is how you can actually view that data in your Urchin reports:

    - Go to: Pages & Files -> Page Query terms
    - Click on the little blue triangle next to the URL/page you are interested in viewing.
    - Click the next blue triangle to see the data for that specific variable/term.

    This will let you see the number of clicks per ad / query term, which will give you a good overall picture of which ads are performing the best.

    Client Parameters: If you are using the UTM Method of tracking in Urchin, you get to view some important information about your visitors. Under the “Client Parameters” section, screen resolution can let you know how the majority of visitors are viewing your site. This can be vital information when considering a website make-over, as you can design your new site to appeal to the right screen size for your type of visitor. The languages report can also be helpful when analyzing your demographic makeup or how you market to other countries.

    Navigation: Two very useful reports under this section are “Click Paths” and “Click To and From”. These two reports can be a great way to see how visitors interact with your site once they are there. You can view what they click on once on your homepage, or how they arrive at certain pages within your site. This data can assist you in developing better navigation and highlighting your most frequently traveled pages from key webpages within your site.
