* From the Blog…Google – Part II
In last month’s newsletter we covered various Google related topics. In this section we’ll cover a couple other topics related to Google.Google Trusted Stores
The Google Trusted Stores program is designed to help shoppers feel confident in their purchases across the web. Google allows merchants who meet certain shipping and customer service performance metrics to participate in this free program. Participation means that merchants can then display the Google Trusted Store badge on their websites. A trusted badge will also be displayed in search results, which could translate into a higher rate of clickthroughs.In order to be eligible for the program, your site must meet a number of requirements, in addition to sharing your purchase and shipping data with Google. We have a blog post here that talks about the program and details the requirements your store must meet:

Complete details about the program as well how to become a trusted store can be found at:

If your store meets the requirements, it’s definitely worth looking into.
Google Product Search / Google Shopping
Google Product Search, formerly known as Froogle, then Google Base, will soon be re-branded again as Google Shopping. The difference with this change though is that it will no longer be free for merchants to list their products.It will mark the first time that Google will decommission a search product that previously listed companies for free. Google believes that an all-paid model will undoubtedly lead to better data and improve the shopping experience for the end user, as well as connect merchants with the right buyers. More information about their position can be found in the following blog post:
In contrast to Google’s standpoint, many people see it as a disservice in that it will now become even harder for small merchants to compete once the paid inclusion model begins. Our blog touches on this subject and lets you know our thoughts on the matter:

A must read article, full of comprehensive details on the upcoming change is located at:
Google could implement the new system as early as August, so be sure your company is either ready to pay or stop using the program soon.
