ShopSite 8.1 released…

The ShopSite ecommerce software is LexiConn’s sole ecommerce offering and has been since 1997. ShopSite is very robust, user friendly, and can support stores looking to sell anywhere from one product to tens of thousands of products. The program can be managed easily through your web browser via a backoffice interface. Unlike many popular ecommerce products that create dynamicly generated store pages, ShopSite creates static web pages which are indexed more effectively in search engines. The latest version of ShopSite (8.1) has many new features including Google Checkout, VISA CISP/PABP validation, eBay auction integration, and FedEx shipping integration. There are also a number of improvements to existing features, including new themes and colors for built-in templates, as well as meta tags and custom titles for More Information pages. Another improvement that can help developers working with the software is that the pages and products databases are now in SQLite format.

This version was officially released at the end of June, and we began upgrading live stores on July 3, 2006. The new release is very stable and the upgrade process requires no re-work on the part of the store owner.

Featured Client – freebears.com…

This month’s featured client is freebears.com. Freebears.com offers over 900 different teddy bears and stuffed animals. Their selection is one of the best on the web and they strive to have the most outstanding customer service you can find anywhere on the internet. The website is named freebears.com because they give away free bears. For every purchase of $50.00 or more, freebears.com will donate a free bear to a local children’s charity or send a free Cushy Critter teddy bear to you with your order.

WHOIS Domain Privacy Service…

LexiConn offers a WHOIS Privacy Service for any domain in our registry. This service protects your personal information from exposure in public WHOIS databases, which can lead to preventing spam and unwanted phone calls. You still retain full ownership and control of your domains, but actual WHOIS lookups won’t reveal any information about you or your company. The cost of this service is $10.00 per year, and you may request it via email: support@domains.lexiconn.com

If you currently have your domain with another registrar and are interested in transferring to our registry, this can be initiated at:

The transfer process adds an additional year to your current expiration date, and is $25.00.
