    Latest Software Versions
    —–
Regardless of which product you are using, it’s always a good idea to stay up to date to have all of the latest features and fixes.

The latest version of ShopSite is 14.0 r3.5. You can see what version you’re running currently by looking in the footer section of your back office or under Preferences -> Hosting Service: Version. If you aren’t running this latest version, let us know and we’ll upgrade you accordingly. This version includes all of the recent bug fixes and enhancements. More about this release can be found at:

If your website is running Magento for its ecommerce software, the latest version is 2.3.2. This blog post provides a good overview of the patching process for an M2 store:

This tech resource page provides all the details on each patch:

If you’re using WordPress with WooCommerce as your shopping cart software, it is extremely important to keep that software up to date. WordPress is constantly releasing security updates as it’s a common hacker target due to its popularity. Aside from keeping the core updated, which will happen automatically with many modern versions, keeping the plugins and themes up to date is also a must.

Using a caching plugin such as WP Rocket can also greatly help improve performance for your WooCommerce store. LexiConn will take care of installing the plugin and adjusting the initial configuration of the settings for optimal performance. The plugin works well even for a dynamic solution like WooCommerce, as it caches static content while allowing the dynamic elements to keep working. Pricing is $49 per year and it can be ordered at:

Additionally, your website should be running entirely over SSL (https). Google has been pushing this for the last few years, and it is now the standard on the internet. Additionally, recent browser updates make it more obvious which sites aren’t running over SSL as they display the dreaded “Not Secure” label next to your domain name. If your site isn’t running entirely over SSL, let us know and we can assist with converting your website so that it is accessed solely via https.
