Description: Dodds Shoe Co. has been delivering high quality comfort and style to their customers for four generations. Jeff from Dodds Shoe states, “First rate customer service has been a core value since the opening of ‘Dodds Dry Goods and Ready to Wear’ back in 1934. With the launch of doddsshoe.com in 2003, we wanted to provide a website that was convenient for customers al over the country, while still providing the ever-fading personal neighborhood shoe store service.

We carry thousands of items, including top quality name brands in casual and dress shoes, athletic shoes, apparel, and accessories for the entire family. 95% of our orders ship the same day, and during business hours, we strive answer phone calls within seconds and respond to emails within minutes.

There was a time when our competition was other shoe stores in the local area. Eventually, we considered our competition to be other shoe stores in our area of the country. Now, with an expanding website and as the largest footwear center in the Rocky Mountain region, we see our competition at a national level. Therefore, it is important to give customers reasons to choose doddsshoe.com over cookie-cutter style national chains for their footwear needs. For us, that means offering thousands of products and undertaking frequent market research to insure we are priced competitively, as well as finding a balance between simple convenience and staying up to date with the newest technologies.”

Technologies Used: Jeff continued, “We currently utilize several technologies/services in addition to ShopSite Pro, including LexiConn’s email campaign software to distribute weekly specials and new arrivals. We also use Youtube video embeds for detailed product descriptions, database search services to assist our customers in navigating the site, WordPress to manage our blog site, and several LexiConn email services to reduce spam and viruses.”

Advice / Tips: Jeff continued, “My advice for other retailers is to find ways to set your site apart from others in your industry. Whether that is price competition, service options, or look and feel of your site, it is important to know who else is out there and know how you can compete. Recently, we have added video descriptions and more efficient ways for customers to perform searches, while striving to keep our site from looking cluttered.”
