Description: NelleandLizzy.com custom stamps sterling silver jewelry. Nelle & Lizzy was started in 2006 by two moms looking for subtle and sophisticated mother’s jewelry which at the time did not exist. Name rings are their most popular item, but the line had expanded to include stamped charms for necklaces and bracelets.
Customers can request a name, date or saying that can be stamped on their rings, charms, and bracelets. Using their online Previewer, customers can design a necklace or bracelet and see a picture of exactly what they will receive as a finished product.
Technologies Used: Page from Nelle & Lizzy states, “We love ShopSite! The site we currently have is our third and by far the easiest to navigate and the most dependable. We were lucky enough to be featured as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2007 and the site we had at the time was a nightmare – we had to print each order individually! Needless to say, we love all the bells and whistles of ShopSite.
We added the Coupon Creation module which has been very helpful in this new discount-demanding shopping environment. We also just recently added the Customer Loyalty Coupon module, which will send thank you coupons to anyone who orders during a certain time. We used it this year for the Black Friday – Cyber Monday weekend and it seemed to be a huge success.
We also do a weekly newsletter which is sent through LexiConn’s email blast system. Sending specials out each week has really impacted our sales positively.”
Advice / Tips: Page continued “In terms of advice I think the only advice we have is if you are a small company like we are, stay away from large companies offering marketing, SEO and other services which they say will get you the ‘exposure you are looking for’. We have tried a few and learned the hard way that small companies are easily lost. And if you are like us, all our time is spent running our business and making sure they do their job is not one of the things we need/want to be doing. We have had much better success with individuals who offer their services – they tend to be more hands on and accountable…and successful!
I guess the only other thing which is really a no-brainer in terms of advice is that customer service is key! It seems in the past few years the typical internet shopper has evolved into a person who expects free shipping from all companies as well as impeccable customer service. Since we only offer free shipping a few times a year, our customer service has to be great to retain the orders. It is a demanding feat but well worth it if you can keep your customers happy!”
