    ShopSite & Magento 1 Updates
    —–
Be sure that you are running the latest version of ShopSite (12.3.2) and that your Magento 1 store is fully patched.

As discussed in previous newsletters, if you are using ShopSite for your ecommerce store, you will need to be running version 12 SP2 or higher by June 30th, or else your store will no longer be able to process PayPal payments. Thus, if PayPal stopped working in your store, you’ll want to be sure to have us upgrade you right away. The latest version is 12 SP3. Even if your store doesn’t accept PayPal, other changes are on the horizon for payment gateways and realtime shipping services, and those would require running the current version as well. Complete information on this version, including a link to the full feature list, as well as cost and upgrade instructions, can be found on our website at:

As per last month’s newsletter, all Magento 1 stores were patched to support PayPal and Mastercard changes. There was also another patch released for Magento 1 stores called SUPEE-9767. This is a security patch that all M1 stores should have. The first version of this patch caused several issues and we deemed it not safe to apply. Once an updated patch was released, we fully tested that version and began applying it to M1 stores. However, the patch was not a simple one that just needed to be installed, as it potentially required changing files in each account. We have identified affected files in each account, and are in the process of applying the patch. Each store owner is emailed informing them of the update as soon as our work is complete. Reference this post for more details on what goes into each patch:

As you can see, quite a bit of time and work goes into each update. We always recommend keeping up with all software upgrades in order to have access to the latest features and bug fixes. Security upgrades are always of the utmost importance to protect your store from exploits, and the PayPal changes exemplify the need to stay current.
