Recent Google Updates

Over the past few months there have been many Google updates to various areas.

As we’ve discussed recently in previous newsletters and blog posts, two very important things you should do are make sure your website is mobile friendly, and using all SSL. These two items can improve your ranking in Google and lead to a better shopper experience. The rest of this section will focus on other areas of Google.

Google Shopping Updates

Each year Google makes updates to their shopping system in an attempt to make it easier for shoppers to find products online. This year there are some updates that require changes to the current product data that need to be implemented by September 1, 2016 and February 14th, 2017. Google Search Console

Google Search Console, formerly known as Google Webmaster Tools, is an extremely useful service offered by Google and should be used by anyone with a website. It allows you to check your site’s indexing status and optimize the visibility of your site. Search Console will also let you know if anything is wrong with your site. This includes crawling errors, malware detected, increase in 404 pages, etc. More complete information about this offering can be found at:

Google Analytics and AdWords
