Description: SportsfanOutlet.com was started in 1999 and the related Blanketwarehouse.com was launched in 2004. Biff from SportsfanOutlet states, “SportsfanOutlet carries over 100,000 officially licensed sporting memorabilia and logo items for the NFL, NCAA, MLB, NBA, and NHL, as well as sporting goods for all sports. Blanket Warehouse retails bedding for the entire family in a vast array of styles, including bunk bedding, cal king bedding, dorm bedding, crib bedding, and more. The bed sets come in animal print, solid colors, lodge patterns, and more. We sell to retail and to both individuals and large institutions throughout the United States.”
Technologies Used: Biff continued, “We run Magento, and currently upgraded from 1.4 to 1.8. Our sites use several different types of specialty extensions not found on most Magento stores. These extensions are complicated and unique, and were mostly made to handle our large database and vendors. LexiConn has been helpful whenever we have had server issues associated with installing or upgrading these extensions, as they require many unique server settings due to them being heavily customized. Our site runs a huge MySQL database because of the amount of products we offer and the amount of traffic we receive. Before coming to LexiConn we had numerous issues with slow sites and found it difficult to get long term fixes to problems we were having.
After transferring our sites to LexiConn, which they also made fast and easy, their response time to issues we encounter has been phenomenal. Issues are fixed quickly and they make sure the fix will work and not cause other issues down the line. They make us aware of hardware issues that their own diagnostics find and are proactive in fixing or replacing any issues. They also have come up with suggestions on improvements that have helped us in day to day operations. This is actually one part of our business that I no longer worry about because of their knowledge of Magento and its interaction with their servers. Their customer service interaction, by email or phone, and response times are what any website owner would appreciate.
