Description: Ken’s Fish is a premier aquarium, reptile, and pond supply company located in Taunton, Massachusetts. Ken states, “We have a full line of our own brand fish food that will save you money but not skimp on quality. We have introduced some of the newest flavors of tropical fish food in the industry to keep your fish full and healthy.

We have an ever growing team that prides themselves in picking and packing your order in the fastest and most efficient way. Our staff provides themselves on shipping your order the same day you place it and making sure that your orders are correct.”

Technologies Used: Ken continued, “Since switching to ShopSite in the summer of 2011, our company has had tremendous growth. ShopSite has allowed us to have all of the functionality in one place. The hosting at LexiConn is next to none. If you have a question, they have an answer and you can sleep knowing your site is being monitored.

We have utilized a number of technologies on our website. We have a RMA form that allows our customers easy returns, using PHP and MySQL. We also utilize our own API inventory program that not only sends inventory to ShopSite, but also to other auction sites, while keeping our inventory numbers in check so that we do not oversell. We also use a custom shipping API to allow flat rate pricing for frozen food and free shipping at a designated price. We also use the LexiConn newsletter programto send out new products to our customers and keep them informed about sales. Vortex Web Design has helped us design our site and Atstuff has built all of our inventory functionality and special shipping option.”

Advice / Tips: Ken finished, “Always surround yourself with great people and great things will happen. If it’s not broken, break it! Don’t be afraid of change. Don’t be afraid of Amazon and Ebay; rather, use them to drive traffic to your site. Since we started posting small amounts of products on these sites, our traffic and new customer base has grown. Once they find you, they will keep coming back.”
