* From the Blog: ShopSite Tips, Timing customer reviews, What to do with your store when on vacation, Don’t always copy Amazon …
Trust Seals – Effectively Promote ConfidenceTrust seals are the dynamic images and badges you can place on your site to reinforce how safe and secure your website is for shoppers. Trust seals can be a great way to enhance your site’s “trustability” and set you apart from your competitors, but only if the seals are used properly.
Too much is not a good thing – When opting to display trust seals such as McAfee Secure, the BBB logo, or one provided with your SSL certificate, you don’t want to overdo it. Two or three is sufficient to show potential customers that they can trust your website with their credit card information. If you plaster your site with too many redundant seals, it can send the opposite message, making visitors wonder why are you trying so hard to convince them your site is safe.
Location, location, location – Don’t hide these seals on just your checkout page. If it works aesthetically, try to integrate them into your side nav bar, or your header or footer. This way anyone landing on your site will see them.
Not all names are created equal – Brand name seals (McAfee, GeoTrust, VeriSign, the BBB, etc…) will be the most effective at demonstrating safety and security. No one will trust the “JimBobMary Seal of Approval” if no one has ever heard of the trust company in the first place and their credibility has not been established within the industry. For this reason, opting to display trust seals that are present on the websites of some of the bigger businesses and retailers on the web is beneficial to the smaller business, lending further credibility through association.
LexiConn is partnered with McAfee for their McAfee SECURE program. This service scans your website daily and allows you to prominently display the McAfee SECURE dynamic seal on your site. McAfee is a worldwide recognized leader for safety and security.

We are also partnered with VeriSign and GeoTrust through which we provision our SSL certificate offerings. Both names are instantly recognizable by shoppers thereby creating a greater comfort level when their respective seals are visible during an online purchasing process.
