Version 10 r6 patches appliedLexiConn has patched all version 10 stores to the latest 10 r6 release. These patches corrected a number of small bugs and issues with version 10. Any store that was already upgraded to version 10 has been automatically patched.
The upgrade to version 10 is free of charge for any client leasing ShopSite, and is free for any ShopSite license owner running version 9. Full details on version 10 and the upgrade form can be found on our website at:

Holiday Shopping TipsThe online holiday shopping season rush will be starting soon. Here are a few tips to make sure your online store is ready to capture the most holiday sales…
* You should place a test order regularly from start to finish to make sure the entire cart experience is working correctly. Do this in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, paying special attention to any security warnings on checkout that may pop up in Internet Explorer. Remember that all image calls, css calls, and javascript calls on the checkout page must be done through the secure URL for your store.
* Make sure the ShopSite search feature (if you’re using one) is easy to find and use. We highly recommend enabling search logging in ShopSite, and checking these statistics daily to see what people are searching for, and more importantly, what they are not finding. You can then put common typos in search keywords for products, or add products as needed to capture the most sales.
* Have a person not familiar with your website try to order a few products you give them from start to finish. This is a great way to see where people get hung up when they see your website for the first time.
* Double check shipping rates, tax rates, payment options, and try to create a streamlined ordering process. If you’re offering free shipping or incentives, make sure these are clearly marked and prominent to entice buyers.
* Consider adding a page or pages for gift ideas, and/or a gifts under $XX page. This should be prominently featured on your site.
* Make good use of the product and cart cross-sell feature if you can come up with products that go hand in hand with gift purchases. Don’t go overboard, but use these features strategically to maximize cart purchases.
Version 10 built-in HTML editorVersion 10 of ShopSite has introduced a built-in HTML editor that can be used in most of the textboxes in the backoffice. This is quite a powerful new feature, as you can easily make changes to pages/products without having to type in any html code. Insert images, tables, bold text, etc… all from an easy to use integrated html editor.
You can enable this feature in version 10 by going to:
Utilities -> HTML EditorThere are a number of custom configuration options as well to allow you to have the tools you need/want in the html editor. Once enabled, you simply click the link “[ Editor ]” above any textbox in the backoffice to use the wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) editor.
As always, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Complete contact and support options can be found at:
