SSH is a secure encrypted protocol used to gain shell access to your hosting account. SSH has two main protocol versions, SSH1 and SSH2. LexiConn is no longer supporting SSH1, as SSH2 is the newer, more secure protocol. Effective immediately, those clients using SSH to connect to their LexiConn accounts will want to update their settings to use SSH2.

If you are interested in using SSH, a popular and free SSH client that runs on the Windows operating system is called Putty, which can be downloaded at:

For those interested in purchasing a more robust, commercial program, you may wish to try SecureCRT:

Please note that this change does not affect the hosting of your website in any way, and has no impact whatsoever on the majority of clients, as most clients are not connecting via SSH.
