Upgraded Hosting Packages…LexiConn is pleased to announce that all hosting packages now have increased allotments. The upgraded packages include substantial increases to the alloted disk space and bandwidth and the monthly fees will remain the same as they are now. The new specifications are as follows:

Previous allocation: 150 MB space, 5 GB monthly transfer

Mailing Lists: Tips and Offerings…Mailing lists are an effective way to stay in contact with your client base. They are great for keeping people informed of the latest news and offerings. In order to make your content more appealing to the end subscriber, you may wish to consider using HTML in your newsletter. Simple things such as tables and bold fonts can make your posting more appealing to readers, which would hopefully result in a higher reading rate for your message. Certain email programs do not support HTML messages, in which case you would want to send out both an HTML and a text version of the message. The user’s email program would determine which one gets displayed.

phpMyAdmin and phpbb2 updated to the latest versions…phpMyAdmin, the web based MySQL database management tool, has been ugraded to the latest version, 2.6.4-pl3. This upgrade dealt solely with a small security patch. No other functionality was changed in the software.
phpBB2, one of the most popular open source forum software solutions, has been upgraded in the Account Manager to the latest version 2.0.18. The new version fixes a number of bugs and offers a few enhancements as well. A few noteworthy fixes/changes:
Fix: wrong topic redirection after login redirect
Fix: correctly preview signature if editing other users posts
Fix: handling of reactivation notifications if admin activation is enabled
Fix: correctly display username in private message notification
Change: added 60 days limit for grabbing unread topics in index.php
Sec: fixed email bans to use the same pattern as email validation and allow wildcard domain bans
Sec: fixed validation of topic type when posting
Sec: changed avatar gallery code sections to prevent possible injection points
Sec: fixed ability to edit PM’s you did not send
Sec: compare imagetype on avatar uploading to match the file extension from uploaded file
—Only new installs of phpBB2 will be at the latest version. Previously installed versions are unaltered. Clients are encouraged to upgrade their forums to the latest version.
