1. From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
2. Find “WP Super Cache” and click Activate.
3. Next, click “Settings”.
4. The first time settings are accessed, you may see the notifications below. The first message will be displayed if you have activated the plugin "Rename wp-login.php". It's safe to click on the link and add your custom login URL to the cache exclusion list. The second message relates to an update in your wp-config.php file. This can be safely ignored and will only display the first time settings are accessed.
5. The notification below may also be present when you access settings. It is safe to dismiss this message.
6. On the Easy tab screen, enable the radio button next to "Caching On (Recommended)" and click "Update Settings".
7. On the Advanced tab (Caching section), check the items noted below (circled in red).
8. On the Advanced tab (Miscellaneous section), check the items noted below (circled in red). If you have caching enabled in your .htaccess file, you should not enable compression (first option below). Doing so, may result in page load errors.
9. When finished, click the "Update Status" button.
10. On the Advanced tab (Garbage Collection section), check the items noted below and set their values accordingly.
11. Click 'Change Expiration'. You can then dismiss any warnings about Garbage Collection not being scheduled.
