Keeping Your Account Safe
—–
There are several things that we do regularly to keep your account safe. There are several things you should be doing as well in order to minimize the chance of a security breach.

Throughout each day we are constantly working to keep your account and data safe from hackers/exploits. We have numerous automated and manual systems in place to detect and react to various types of attacks. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

Daily malware scanning of all account files.

Brute force detection and automatic blocking of abusive IPs.

Intrusion Detection Software (IDS), including lfd firewall, custom scripts for compromised email boxes, FTP users, etc.

Daily manual log reviews looking for anomalies.

There are also several things that you should be doing from your end to keep your account secure. The following is a list of recommendations for keeping your account safe:

Keep all software up to date, including themes, plugins, core, etc. This goes for all platforms, including WordPress, Magento, ShopSite, et al.

Keep your local computer clean, with both an antivirus program and an antimalware program. It’s important to use both as they scan for different items.

Regularly audit your list of authorized users and delete any unneeded ones. This applies to POP boxes, FTP users, and your CMS admins.

Never use an easy to guess password, and use different passwords for each site if you manage multiple sites. This can help prevent one compromise from turning into many.
